Cortoon Shamrocks Club na nOg invites all juvenile members and non-members to join them in competing in the upcoming County Galway Scor na Nog (U-17) competition. The club wants to actively encourage and promote Irish culture and heritage and would love children of all levels and ability to represent the club. Anyone interested in getting involved can contact any member of Club na nOg or contact Gary Mc Entee on 087 9797182.
There are eight events/disciplines in Scór that cover all aspects of Irish culture:
Figure/Céili Dancing,
-Solo Singing,
-Ballad Group,
-Recitation/Scéalaíocht,
-Nuachleas/Novelty Act,
-Instrumental Music,
-Set Dancing,
-Table Quiz.
The competition is divided into 3 age levels, Scor na Paisti under 12, Scór na nOg, for young people under 17 and Scór Sinsir, for those over 17. Just like the All-Ireland Football and Hurling Championship, clubs taking part in Scór first run off competitions among the club's own members with the winners going forward to the County Final on 2nd of April 2023. The winners go on to the Provincial final and finally on to the All-Ireland Final.
